Shrike focuses on the idea of trauma by making the viewer both victim, voyeur, and aggressor. Before entering the space, the viewer was asked to eat a piece of plum while experiencing the installation, once inside, alone, the viewer was met by this video played on repeat in a silent, dark room with a single light shining on the object that was displayed opposite the projection beneath the statement (later superimposed onto the video). The deafening sound of the video, coupled with the statement and consumption of the plum left the viewer at a precipice between emotions.
